INDUSTRIAL COURSES AVAILABLE

From warehouses to factories, from mine sites to retail outlets, from offices to airlines, from hotels to workshops, Manutention is able to make a REAL difference in reducing the risk of manual handling injuries.

One thing that makes Manutention courses stand out from the crowd is that they are so practical and applicable. In the past manual handling training often consisted of a Manual Handling "lecture" where participants might watch a video, and be told to how to lift safely, but didn't really do any hands on work. Whilst it is important to talk about the systems that support a safe work environment, AAMP acknowledges that Manual Handling cannot be completely eliminated from the workplace. Furthermore, the AAMP also acknowledges that manual handling is a physical skill that takes time to acquire, just like learning to drive. Imagine if you could get your driver's license after attending a lecture and watching a video!

AAMP provides both accredited and tailored courses for a wide range of Industries. Courses are designed to fit within the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), and hence can be recognised nationally. All courses include a focus on the specific work environments in which the participants work, and if required, tailor-made courses can be developed for a specific workplace.

_______

Manutention of Loads II
4 days - (Assessed at certificate 2 level)

Overview

This competency based course has been designed to cater to the needs of people who work in any industry requiring the manual handling of loads. The Course is designed to provide trainees with a practical method for controlling the risks involved in manual handling while operating within Australian legislative guidelines
Graduates of this course will achieve a level of competency in manual handling that will enable them to actively reduce the risks involved in manual handling in their workplaces. The Australian Association of Manutention Practitioners believes that manual handling is a skill that can be learnt. A degree of unlearning is also involved in this process, in that old unsafe work habits must be discarded.
This 4 day course focuses on developing a new awareness of the principles of practical, safe manual handling. This includes developing skills in manual handling performance assessment and problem solving.
